Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) of Proprietors/Partners/Managing Directors/ Head of Human Resource Development of commercial and non-commercial (Profit and non-profit) organizations including NGOs desirous of conducting ‘Prayas Foundation Course’ for their executives and employees for developing an internally driven, proactive and self-motivating personality for positive behavior and higher productivity.
Question No. 1: Which program of ‘Prayas is most important?
Answer: ‘Prayas Foundation Course (PFC)’ is most important program which includes personality profiling and planned development initiative and is therefore an integrated personality identification and development program which brings paradigm shift in the thinking and behavior of participants. Bringing positive change in thinking and behavior of an individual is most challenging task which is facilitated by PFC. Therefore this is the flagship program of ‘Prayas’. The most important aspect of this course includes assurance to reply to all queries of participants about the topic being brainstormed and availability of long-term mentorship on payment of annual charges of Rs. 1000 (one Thousand) in normal case and only Rs. 500 (Five Hundreds) in case of candidates belonging to weaker sections of society. .
Question No 2: What is the purpose of Prayas Foundation Course?
Answer: PFC aims at developing an internally driven, proactive and self-motivating personality in participants to enable them to face all challenges of their life successfully with happiness and peace. This program does not restricts entry of applicants on the basis of their economic condition as its charges are fixed on twin principles of ‘No Profit No Loss’ and ‘Cross-subsidization’. O5 seats out of 15 seats of a batch are for candidates belonging to economically weaker sections of society.
Question No. 3: Why our executive or employees should join Prayas Foundation Course, when they are already attending other management/employee development programs being organized from time to time besides attending occasional motivational lectures from eminent personalities? What is so special about this course?
Answer: In general human resource development programs focus on developing general management skills or skills related to functional areas like finance, personnel, production and marketing etc. but current personality of executives and employees is not profiled and as such their strengths & weaknesses remain unidentified and are not removed in a systematic manner. Prayas Foundation Course precisely does this and helps in developing emotional, social and ethical/spiritual intelligence in the participants. Executives and employees working with you may be having very high IQ (Mental Ability) but may not succeed in task assigned to them due to negative personality traits like unwillingness to do hard labor, inability to work in teams in an effective manner and take co-operation of others including juniors, colleagues and seniors and handle their assignments in a planned and focused manner. They may not be able to obtain fast promotions due to low emotional, social and ethical/spiritual intelligence. PFC identifies and removes imbalances in personality traits and thereby facilitates better on the job performance besides bringing positive changes in behavior of participants thereby facilitating development of enabling conduct for achieving success with peace and happiness. This is difficult for routine management and employee development programs currently being organized by other organizations for your institution.
Question No. 4: Our executives and employees are extremely busy during working hours and get tired by evening. As such where is time of 90 minutes daily with them for this course?
Answer: Considering the paradigm shift in thinking and inter-personal behavior of your executive and employees due to impact of this unique course, it is desirable to steal 90 minutes out of their busy schedule daily for this course. Any amount of training being given at present will be finally of no practical use for your executive without ensuring development of positive thinking, proactive habits and self driven behavior on their part. Moreover once an executive or employee completes PFC successfully, his output and productivity would improve significantly. A proactive executive or employee is an asset to his employer and one who only reacts to formal instructions, is a liability. PFC would facilitate conversion of all executives and employees from liability to asset to the organization.
Question No. 5: At present our executives and employees are already very tired from existing work load which is very heavy and will have no energy left for PFC as they will further get tired. As such how they can attend PFC for additional 90 minutes each day 6 days a week?
Answer: It may please be noted that PFC is not a usual run of the mill executive or employee development program where trainers give lecture on some general management or functional topics and explain some difficult concepts. Participants of PFC will not be taught or explained any difficult topic by any trainer which they have absolutely no knowledge at all and have to struggle mentally to understand it. Rather they will be asked to express their views freely on topics on general nature which are very relevant for their day to day life, families, employer organization and society around them about which they already have some knowledge and will also get chance to hear views of other participants and react to them. In fact they will be refreshed in this process of brainstorming and will be more refreshed for jobs/assignments with higher energy level. So question of getting tired by attending the brainstorming session of PFC does not arise. In fact it will relax mentally which is very important for better results.
Question No. 6: Considering current financial condition of our organization arranging Rs. 5000 further per executive or employee may be difficult for us. How do we arrange fee of this course fee?
Answer: The total fee of PFC of 6 months duration in normal circumstances is only Rs. 5000 which However considering the fact that the role of VVM will be played by your own executive, the amount to be paid to ‘Prayas’ has been kept at only 30% of this fee only per participant. Considering tremendous benefits of PFC for your organization in respect of the productivity of human resource and positive change in the work culture of the organization, budgeting for Rs. 1500 per executive or employee may not be very difficult for you. Out of remaining Rs. 3500 you may decide to give some incentive to your own executive who is trained by us to work as VVM for the course being run in your organization.
Question No. 7: Our organization is already arranging executive development programs and employee development programs from time to time and as such what is need of this course?
Answer: Focus of executive or employee development programs is general or functional related to the skills required for a job but they do not develop positive personality traits. Also they do not involve detailed personality profiling with the help of time tested Psychological Tests and as such strengths and weakness of executive and employees is not known. Moreover MDPs or EMDPs, which are short term development programs and mostly involve one way communication, are not able to change the behavior of employees/executives as retention of values from such programs is very low. PFC facilitates development of internally driven and proactive personality through brainstorming sessions being organized regularly for six months after ascertaining the current personality profile of participants through psychological instruments which is difficult for organizations to ensure due to pressure of day to day activities which they have to undertake. As complete technical guidance and support for conducting and managing this course is provided to your organization including training to three executives nominated by your management for one batch of PFC, your organization has to just manage this course as per our guidance.
Question No. 8: What is importance of Emotional, Social and Ethical/Spiritual Intelligence over the IQ (Mental Intelligence) of an individual in respect of on the job performance? If an employee or executive has high IQ is it not sufficient for achieving excellence in performance? Why an employee or executive should join PFC which claims to develop emotional, social and ethical/spiritual intelligence?
Answer: Any job or profession including self-employment requires working with people in teams and in hierarchy including juniors (subordinates) and seniors (supervisors or managers or officers). Overall performance of an organization in reference to its corporate objectives is dependents on well coordinated and synergized working of its human resource. Inter-personal synergy depends upon level of EQ and SQ of individuals working together. An individual with low EQ and SQ is bound to fail due to his/her inability to seek full cooperation of other members of his/her team, juniors, colleagues and seniors. Since PFC ensures development of emotional, social and spiritual intelligence through the process of brain storming after ascertaining strengths and weakness of an individual through psychological profiling of his/her personality and ascertaining current level of EQ and SQ, your executive and employees should join it at the earliest if they wish to have a successful, peaceful and happy work life. The performance of your organization would improve beyond your imagination.
Question No. 9: How we would know that the personality of an employee working with us and who have participated in PFC has actually developed in right direction due to his/her participation in this course? Does participant get a certificate or report at the end of this course?
Answer: Just after joining this course (during first month of commencement of PFC) a personality test of each participant is held through time tested Psychological instruments and based on results of this test, the profile of his/her current personality (called entry profile) is prepared and kept in his/her folder maintained with ‘Prayas’. Again at the end of PFC (30 days before conclusion of the course) a repeat personality test is held and a revised profile (called exit profile) of each participant is prepared. A Personality Development Report (PDR) is prepared for each participant clearly highlighting the special features of his/her personality and the changes which occurred in his/her personality due to participation in PFC by comparing these two profiles. PDR also contains recommendations for future. It is given to concerned participant on conclusion of this course. You, the participating employee and his/her family can easily find out the positive changes which have taken place in his/her personality as a result of participation in PFC.
Question No. 10: What preparation is required on part of a participant before going for PFC class? Where will our employees get time for such a preparation?
Answer: Your employees nominated and deputed to attend PFC need not do any preparation for its classes see or listen to some shot duration videos or audios related to the topic scheduled to be discussed. They have to just express their views on the topic of the day and react to the views of others according to their existing knowledge.
