Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) of Individuals who wish to work as Expert for giving technical and academic support to ’Prayas’ on part-time basis.

 

Question No. 1: What is corporate mission of ‘Prayas’?

Answer:  The corporate mission of ‘Prayas’ is as under.

• Make our customers successful in their life with happiness and peace, in the area of their studies or work or occupation, by facilitating balanced development of their personality through the process of scientific testing and profiling of their personality and their participation in carefully designed personality development programs and personal mentoring at user charges which are affordable.
• Provide part-time but self-satisfying engagement to large number of individuals having some spare time from their current assignments, and having interest in social welfare, by using a unique concept of time donation and providing them an opportunity of becoming our Activity Partners and make moderate additional income through the mechanism of income sharing along with earning social prestige and blessings of people whom they help through our services.
• Nation building through purposeful human resource development through a financially sustainable mechanism based on the concept of time donation by kind hearted individuals interested in social service

Question No. 2. What is the organization structure ‘Prayas’?

Answer: Prayas Vyaktitva Vikas Seva (P) Ltd. (hereafter referred as ‘Prayas’), is a Private Limited Company incorporated under Indian Company Act. 1956.  It has a board of director headed by Managing Director. Most of its associates are part time activity partners working on income sharing basis and are not employee of this company.

Question No. 3: What is the concept of time donation and how it works?

Answer:  There are individuals who are engaged in some work either as an employee or self employed or just looking after their family and have some stable source of income but they may also have some spare time with them after meeting their day to day requirement of self, family and the job or occupation or profession. Similarly there are individuals who have now retired from their job or have stopped working full time and have stable source of regular income from pension or interest or dividend from investment made from past income and have spare time.  At present, such individuals may be just passing this spare time somehow. Some of such individuals, having spare time, are kind hearted and are interested in social welfare activities. ‘Prayas’ invites all such kind hearted individuals having spare time to donate this spare time for managing various activities related to personality profiling and development being conducted by  ‘Prayas’ and obtain moderate income through the mechanism of income sharing. Thus they would be able to utilize their spare time fruitfully for this socially very useful activity and earn social prestige along with earning some additional income for this. Thus it may be seen that donation of spare time is not totally free but in exchange for a moderate income. This concept of time donation enables ‘Prayas’ in minimizing the cost of its services to various groups of customers and charge them according to their capacity to pay. Thus ‘Prayas’ provide such kind hearted individuals interested in social work a platform to use their spare time fruitfully and also earn moderate income and social respect in this process. This work is done by them as a self-enterprise. This (spare time with individuals and institutions) is a unique resource which, if used properly, can make a lot of difference to life of people and a lot of difference to this world.

Question No. 04: How much minimum or maximum time one can donate to ‘Prayas’?

Answer: Any individual, who has minimum 90 minutes of spare time on each day except Sunday, can donate it to “Prayas”. However there is no limit of maximum time one can donate. His/her income depends on the time being devoted by him/her and actual result of this effort in terms of gross income to ‘Prayas’.

Question No. 5: What are major activities of ‘Prayas’? What types of technical support is required from experts by ‘Prayas’?

Answer: ‘Prayas’ is engaged in following activities related to personality development.

• Conducting Personality Awareness Webinars (PAWs) free of cost.
• Personality Testing, Profiling and Counseling Services (PPCS) to individuals.
• Conducting customized modules of Prayas Foundation Courses (PFC) for various groups of participants to bring fundamental changes in their thinking and behavior to enable them to create a future of their liking by developing an internally driven, proactive and self-enabling personality.
• Mentoring students, working adults including entrepreneurs and businessmen for improving their personal effectiveness in managing their ventures.
• Publications and marketing of books and other literature related to personality/skill development.
• Facilitate action research in the areas of personality profiling, counseling and development, behavioral changes and happiness.

We provide our services at affordable charges and reserve some seats for the candidates of economically weaker sections of society and they pay fee as per their capacity to pay which is determined by Prayas through video interview. As such we take help of subject experts on part-time basis and share 90% of the fee received with them. We are therefore looking for subject experts in the areas of Psychology, Sociology, Manufacturing Technology and various functional areas of management such as general management, finance, material management, marketing etc. who may have some spare time which they are ready to donate to ‘Prayas’ in exchange for income sharing.

Question No. 6: Which program of ‘Prayas is most important?

Answer: ‘Prayas Foundation Course’ is most important program which includes personality profiling and planned development initiative and therefore it is an integrated personality identification and development program which brings paradigm shift in the thinking and behavior of participants. Bringing positive change in the thinking and conduct of an individual is the most challenging task which is facilitated by PFC. Therefore this is the flagship program of ‘Prayas’ and as such most of the energy of ‘Prayas’ is devoted to this program. The most important aspect of this course includes assurance to reply to all queries of participants about the topic being brainstormed and availability of long-term mentorship on payment of annual charges of Rs. 1000 (one Thousand) in normal case and only Rs. 500 (Five Hundreds) in case of candidates belonging to weaker sections of society. . 

 

Question No. 7: What is purpose of Prayas Foundation Course?

Answer: This program aims at developing an internally driven, proactive and self-motivating personality in participants to enable them to face all challenges of their life successfully with happiness and peace. This program does not restricts entry of applicants on the basis of their economic condition as its charges are fixed on twin principles of ‘No Profit No Loss’ and  ‘cross-subsidization’ and some seats are reserved for candidates from economically weaker sections of society who pay fee according to their paying capacity. The most important features of this program include assurance to handle all queries of participants about the topic or subject being brainstormed and provide long –term mentoring on payment of The most important aspect of this course includes assurance to reply to all queries of participants about the topic being brainstormed and availability of long-term mentorship on payment of annual charges of Rs. 1000 (one Thousand) in normal case and only Rs. 500 (Five Hundreds) in case of candidates belonging to weaker sections of society. . 

Question No. 8: What are current charges of Personality Testing, Profiling and Counseling Service and Personality Development Programs?

Answer: The current charges are as under:

• Personality Profiling and Counseling Service: Rs. 750 (Seven Thousands Fifty only).
• Short term (One hour) Personality Awareness Webinars (PAWs):-Free
• Six monthly Personality Development Program titled ‘Prayas Foundation Course’ : Rs. 5000 (Five Thousands only)

Question No. 9: What services experts are required to provide to customers on behalf of Prayas?

Answer: Experts empanelled with ‘Prayas’ may be required to render following services on income sharing basis.

• Preparation of personality development reports of participants of PFC on the basis of entry and exit profiles.
• Counseling the participants of these tests.
• Mentoring individuals such as entrepreneurs and owners of small business.

Question No. 10. What is method of payment to experts adopted by ‘Prayas’?

Answer: 90% of the fee is shared with the experts

Question No. 11:  What are minimum academic qualifications for empanelment as expert with ‘Prayas’?

Answer: Individuals having following academic qualifications and five years post degree experience can be registered and empanelled as expert with ‘Prayas’.

• MA (Psychology), Ph.D. in Personality Psychology (Preferable)
• MBA with specialization in HRD, Marketing, Finance and Manufacturing. (Ph.D. preferable)
• Bachelor of Technology with specialization in civil, Mechanical, Electrical, IT and Manufacturing.

Question No. 12: What is scope of counseling conducted after preparation of the profile?

Answer: Our counselor (expert) briefs the individual concerned as well as his/her parents about strengths and weaknesses of his/her personality and give them some suggestions about the changes which they should bring in their behavior towards each other.  The duration of counseling session could vary between 30 minutes to 45 minutes. Counseling is done first separately for concerned individual and his/her parents and then jointly. The entire process is digital and physical contacts are kept to the minimum.

Question No. 13: Why  ‘Prayas’ provide part-time work opportunities in form of activity partnership on income sharing basis in place of full time work on monthly salary basis?

Answer:  The current charges/prices of personality testing, profiling and counseling services being extended by organizations mostly located in metro or second tier cities are very high. Since personality deficiencies are developing very fast in all individuals both in urban and rural areas and economic condition of most of families, in India, is not good, personality profiling and development service is required to be customized and made available at affordable rates. Such reduction in service charge is not feasible if full time employees are utilized on full salary basis.

The only option available for desired reduction in charges is to identify individuals who are having income which is sufficient to meet the minimum requirement of their families but they have some spare time, which they are willing to donate to ‘Prayas’ on income sharing basis.. Since our activities are very noble in nature, activity partners are able to gain social prestige.

A normal social welfare organization is dependent upon financial donations and its scale of operations depends upon the annual donation which it is able to arrange. All expenses including salary and other administrative expenses are met from such donations. ‘Prayas’ has changed this concept of financial donation to the concept of time donation in exchange for an income which is moderate. This leads to lower cost of the service being rendered by ‘Prayas’ and does not put any restriction on the volume of business.

Question No. 14: What is income sharing formula applicable to Experts?

Answer: 90% of the mentoring charges are payable to ‘Experts’.

Question No. 15: Is the geographical jurisdiction relevant for experts?

Answer: Geographic jurisdiction is not relevant for experts.

Question No. 16: Once registered, can an expert work lifelong or renewal of registration will be required?

Answer: Once registered an expert can work for his life provided he/she is not debarred from working as expert on account of any misconduct like frauds etc. committed by him/her. In case he/she is able to prove that the allegation of fraud or misconduct is not true then he/she can be permitted to work again as expert after re-registration but free of cost. However the decision of ‘Prayas’ will be final in this regard.

 Question No. 13: How can I visit the office of Prayas?
