Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) of individuals who wish to work as Vyaktitva Vikas Margdarshak (VVM) of ‘Prayas’ on part-time basis.
Question No. 1: What is the concept of time donation and how it works?
Answer: There are individuals who are engaged in some work either as an employee or self employed or just looking after their family and have some stable source of income but they may also have some spare time with them after meeting their day to day requirement of self, family and the job or occupation or profession. Similarly there are individuals who have now retired from their job or have stopped working full time and have stable source of regular income from pension or interest or dividend from investment made from past income and have spare time. At present, such individuals may be just passing this spare time somehow. Some of such individuals, having spare time, are kind hearted and are interested in social welfare activities. ‘Prayas’ invites all such kind hearted individuals having spare time to donate this spare time for managing various activities related to personality profiling and development being conducted by ‘Prayas’ and obtain moderate income through the mechanism of income sharing and network incentive and leadership bonus. Thus they would be able to utilize their spare time fruitfully for this socially very useful activity and earn social prestige along with earning additional income for this. Thus it may be seen that donation of spare time is not totally free but in exchange for a moderate income. This concept of time donation enables ‘Prayas’ in minimizing the cost of its services to various groups of customers especially those belonging to economically weaker sections of the society and charge them according to their capacity to pay. Thus ‘Prayas’ provide such kind hearted individuals interested in social work a platform to use their spare time fruitfully and also earn moderate income and social respect in this process. This work is done by them as a self-enterprise. This (spare time with individuals and institutions) is a unique resource which, if used properly, can make a lot of difference to life of people and this world.
Question No 02: How much minimum or maximum time one can donate to ‘Prayas’?
Answer: Any individual, who has minimum 90 minutes spare time on each day of the week except Sunday, can donate it to “Prayas”. However there is no limit of maximum time one can donate. His/her income depends on the actual time being devoted by him/her and results of this effort in terms of gross income to ‘Prayas’.
Question No 3: Can I register myself with ‘Prayas’ as Vyaktitva Vikas Margdarshak (VVM) for conducting and managing ‘Prayas Foundation Course’ and also supporting ‘Prayas’ in their other activities related to personality development of individuals, on part-time basis?
Answer: If you belong to any of the following categories, having spare time of at least 90 minutes six days a week (except Sunday) and are willing to work for social work for moderate income in addition to your current income from existing activities, you can register yourself with ‘Prayas’ as Vyaktitva Vikas Margdarshak (VVM) by paying nominal one time registration fee of Rs. 100 (One Hundred only) digitally through the payment link provided for this purpose for conducting and managing ‘Prayas Foundation Course’ through a mobile App and supporting ‘Prayas’ in their other activities related to personality development on part-time basis sitting at your home and without any disturbance in your current occupation. You will be provided training through webinars from ‘Prayas’ totally free to enable you to discharge your duties as VVM. It is a kind of self-employment with moderate income and such VVM is not an employee of ‘Prayas’ but a Activity Partner.
- Educated housewives who have spare time after meeting their family responsibilities but cannot go outside their home to do a regular job due to special family circumstances.
- Retired persons having good health and free from most of the family responsibilities and having spare time from daily routine work.
- Persons employed on some jobs but not getting income enough to support their family and having spare time.
- Educated but unemployed individuals.
- Educated adults having spare time but not willing to leave their home for a job or they have become overage for a regular job and are looking for some constructive engagement.
Question No. 04: Once registered, can an activity partner work lifelong or renewal of registration will be required?
Answer: Once registered an individual can work as activity partner for his life provided he is not debarred from working as Activity Partner on account of any misconduct like frauds etc. In case he/she is able to prove to the satisfaction of ‘Prayas’ that the allegation of fraud or misconduct is not true then he/she can be permitted to work as Activity Partner after re-registration but free of cost. However the decision of ‘Prayas’ will be final in this regard.
Question No. 05: Which program of ‘Prayas is most important and why?
Answer: ‘Prayas Foundation Course (PFC)’ is most important program which includes personality profiling and planned developmental initiative to remove shortcomings detected in the personality. Therefore it is an integrated personality identification and development program which brings paradigm shift in the thinking and behavior of participants. Changing behavior of an individual is most challenging task and PFC facilitates it. Therefore this is the flagship program of ‘Prayas’ and lot of energy is focused on this program. This is conducted in digital mode through our dedicated platform.
Question No 06: What is purpose of Prayas Foundation Course?
Answer: This program aims at developing an internally driven, proactive and self-motivating personality in participants to enable them to face all challenges of their life successfully with happiness and peace. This program does not restricts entry of applicants on the basis of their economic condition as its charges are fixed on twin principles of ‘No Profit No Loss’ and ‘Cross-subsidization’ and some seats are made available to candidates from economically weaker sections of the society and the charge payable by such a candidate is determined by Prayas considering his or her ability to pay.
Question No. 07: Do I have to obtain training from ‘Prayas’ at my own cost or do I get expenses of attending training reimbursed?
Answer: Training is conducted through webinars and is totally free and you can participate in it sitting at your home through yur smart phone having internet facility and you having an email ID.
Question no 08: What can be probable profile of participants of PFC?
Answer: Following categories of persons can participate in PFC.
- Students of 8th class and above or children aged 13 years and above.
- Adults (male and female in separate groups) of any age.
The contents of the course are customized as per the age profile of the participants in a particular batch and special requirements of participants at that particular stage of life. The age differential in a group/batch of participants does not exceed 1 years for students. Adult participants are grouped in age brackets of 26-60, above 60 years and below 75 years and above 75 years. At present there are five modules of PFC including one module especially designed for officials of government or PSUs.
Question No. 09: Why this course is not conducted for students who are studying in classes below 8th standard or children aged below 13 years?
Answer: We must understand and note that the personality of an individual starts emerging quite early in his/her life and continues to change or develop in meaningful ways throughout his/her lifespan. According to Paget’s’ theory of cognitive development, there are four stages of personality development which correspond with the age of child. They are sensorimoter (up to 2 years), pre-operational (2-7 years), concrete operational (7-11 Years) and formal operational (11 years to 15 years). Therefore up to 11 years of age the personality of an individual is in fluid stage and takes definite shape only after 11 years and this process goes up to 15 years. However as the result of high school (10th Standard) is very important for motivation for further studies and a child of 15 years is likely to pass 10th standards, it has been decided to permit admission of a student of 13 years to the Prayas Foundation Course so that he or she get about two years time after completion of the course to prepare well for the examination of 10th class with a proactive personality. A child of 13 years age may be studying in 8thth or has passed 8thth standard as admission for formal education of 1st standard for a child is recommended only at the age of 5 years. Therefore neither the personality profiling is done nor is ‘Prayas Foundation Course’ conducted for students or children who are studying in classes below 8th standard.
Question No. 10: Why the activity of VVM is being assigned part- time? Who can become VVM?
Answer: Since ‘Prayas’ is trying to extend various personality development services of best possible quality at affordable price so that poor parents of rural and urban students and adult members of poor families could also get benefitted from its services, it cannot afford to pay salary of regular/full-time employees. Therefore individuals, belonging to following categories, who have some spare time (at least 90 minutes six days a week), can work with ‘Prayas’ as part-time Vyaktitva Vikas Margdarshak (VVM) after obtaining free training through digital mode from ‘Prayas’ and not only draw satisfaction by assisting us in healthy development of society but also earn additional income in this process. To test their ability to work as VVM, they should try to persuade 10 to 15 parents to get their children (studying in 6th and above classes) or adult members of the family admitted to relevant module of Prayas Foundation Course and run this course sitting at their home trough their smart mobile phone having internet connection and email ID. Also they can rightly claim that they are engaged in a socially very useful work. This work would not only enhance their social prestige but would also provide them mental peace and happiness as they are engaged in building future of children and adults. Following groups of individuals can work as our VVM.
- Holders of various jobs, who have retired, are healthy and have some spare time from day to day responsibilities.
- Small private self-financed schools are not able to pay adequate salary to their teachers and such teachers find difficult to meet day to day expenses of their family. Such teachers can work in their spare time out of schools hours and supplement their existing income.
- Educated housewives who are not able to work full time outside their home due special family circumstances, and find difficult to spent spare time fruitfully.
- Such students, who have completed their studies but are unemployed, can also run this course till they are able to get suitable job or even after getting the job if they so desire.
- Any individual who has spare time from his/her current engagement.
If you belong to any one of the above categories, then you can not only utilize your spare time fruitfully but can earn additional income by running “Prayas Foundation Course’ and assist us in our other activities related to personality testing, profiling and development after obtaining free training from ’Prayas’ sitting at your home.
Question No. 11. What could be my probable monthly income from this work?
Answer: The current fee of ‘Prayas Foundation course is Rs. 5000 (Five Thousands only). 30% of Guidance fee is retained by ‘Prayas’ in lieu of conducting personality tests, preparation of profiles of participants, supply of personality development reports and providing academic inputs, their periodical up gradations and total guidance to VVM and 70% of the fee paid by the participants of PFC will paid to VVM for conduct and management of PFC and all activities related to it. In lieu of this income sharing, VVM has to also arrange participants. For example if he/she can arrange one group of 10 (ten) participants, his monthly income would be Rs. 5,883. If he/she can run two groups of 10 participants each then he can earn up to Rs.11,766. This is his/her direct income. In addition if he/she motivates other individuals to work as VVM who in turn motivate others also to work as VVM under them as part of their network, he/she is entitles to get network development incentive @ 1% of the gross income generated by VVMs of his network working up to four levels below9Excvluding him/her). In case the number of VVMs in his network up to four levels below him/her is 100 (one hundred) or more then he/she is entitled for leadership bonus @1% of the gross income generated by VVMs of his network up to four levels below him/her. This is in addition to the normal network incentive indicated above. Therefore his monthly income from this course would depend upon number of batches being run concurrently. ‘Prayas’ does personality profiling and face to face counseling also separately. If the VVM can persuade or motivate children or their parents to get personality profiling done, 20% of the current fee (Rs 750 per child) received by ‘Prayas’ is payable to him/her as an incentive. We have published two pocket books titled ‘How to be successful?’ in English and ‘ सफलता कैसे प्राप्त करें ?’ in Hindi, both priced at Rs 20 only, to develop emotional and ethical intelligence in children. Similarly two pocket books titled ‘ Happiness Unlimited’ in English and ‘जीवन का आनद’ in Hindi, priced at Rs. 30 each, have been published to develop emotional and spiritual intelligence in adults. These pocket books are made available to VVMs at a discount of 40 % of the MRP and they can generate additional income by selling them at MRP or below as considered appropriate by them. For further details please consult the registration scheme of VVM given elsewhere in this website.
Question No. 12: As I am entitled to retain 70 % of the course fee which appears to be low according to me. Can I increase this monthly mentoring fee suitably if parents of children or adult participants are ready to pay? Is there any upper limit of monthly mentoring fee, which I can decide?
Answer: Considering our corporate mission and vision of serving all customers irrespective of their economic background, this is not permitted. You will join us as VVM only when you have some other source of income and have inclination for social service. So such question should not arise in your mind.
Question No. 13: As increasing monthly mentoring fee of PFC may be difficult beyond a limit, what are other ways to increase my monthly income?
Answer: Please see the answer of preceding question.
Question No. 14: How it is proved that the personality of a participant has actually developed in right direction because of this course? Does a participant get a certificate or report at the end of this course?
Answer: Just after joining this course (during first month of PFC) a personality test of each participant is held and based on results of this test, the profile of his/her current personality (called entry profile) is prepared and kept in his/her folder maintained with ‘Prayas’. Again at the end of PFC (during the last month) a repeat personality profile test is held and a revised profile (called exit profile) of each participant is prepared. A Personality Development Report (PDR) is prepared for each participant clearly highlighting the special features of his/her personality and the changes which occurred in his/her personality due to participation in PFC by comparing these two profiles. PDR also contains recommendations for future to be implemented by self, his/her family, school, and employing organization. PDR is given to each participant on conclusion of this course. He/she, his/her parents or other family members can easily find out the positive changes which have taken place in his/her personality as a result of participation in PFC. Moreover changes will be visible in his/her day to day behavior.
Question No 15. Why should a student join Prayas Foundation Course, when he/she is attending his/her school/college regularly? What is so special about it? Similarly why should an adult join this Course?
Answer: Student’s School/College has time to give him/her only subject knowledge and is under tremendous pressure to somehow complete the prescribed course and therefore has no adequate time to profile his/her current personality, identify the strengths & weaknesses and remove them in a systematic manner. ‘Prayas Foundation Course (PFC)’ precisely does this special task and helps in developing emotional, social and ethical/spiritual intelligence in the participants. Students having very high IQ (Mental Ability) may not be able to score high marks in examinations due to existence of negative traits in their personality like unwillingness to do hard labor and do planned and focused studies. PFC identifies and removes imbalances in personality traits and thereby facilitates better academic performance besides bringing positive changes in behavior of participants thereby facilitating development of enabling conduct for achieving success with peace and happiness. This is difficult for the school/college to do under the current framework of education.
So far adults are concerned, it is to be noted that personality of each individual irrespective of his/her age is unique in reference to the configuration of his/her intelligence (IQ, EQ & SQ) profile as well as other personality traits at any given pint of time. This affects his performance in his/her current occupation (including self employment) in a significant manner. Therefore it is essential to profile his/her current personality, identify the strengths & weaknesses and remove them in a systematic manner for better results in the area of his/her work. Therefore commercial as well as non-commercial organizations would be also very much interested in nominating their executives and employees for participating in PFC and may be ready to pay much higher fee than the fee fixed for students and other unemployed adults. VVMs could utilize this opportunity to increase their income.
Question No. 16. A student is busy from early morning to evening in school/college and tuition related to subjects being taught in his/her school/college. As such where is time of 90 minutes daily for this course? Similarly an adult is also already very busy from early morning to evening in his/her job/self-occupation and family responsibilities. As such how he/she can find 90 minutes daily for this course?
Answer: In case of a student, all time spent at present in the school/college and tuition will be finally of no practical use for him/her without ensuring development of positive thinking, habits and self driven/proactive behavior in him/her which is facilitated by PFC and as such taking out 90 minutes by rearranging present day schedule is not only desirable but very necessary. Moreover once he/she completes PFC successfully, the need for taking tuition after his/her school/college time will reduce drastically as a result of development of the habit of self-struggle to study and understand a subject on one’s own in place of dependence on tutor. This will not only save money but also the time which is currently being spent on tuition. In fact over dependence on spoon feeding, in place of self drive, proves to be very dangerous in the long-run.
In case of an adult, as the present performance of an adult may not be at the desired level due to his/her current personality related inner constraints and it cannot be improved without developing positive thinking, habits and self driven behavior in him/her which is developed by PFC, taking out 90 minutes by rearranging his/her current engagement schedule is also not only desirable but necessary. Moreover once he/she completes PFC successfully, his/her time management and behavioral effectiveness will improve tremendously and he/she will be successful in whatever he/she decides to do considering his/her personality features and interests. Such positive changes in the personality of officers, managers or employees of various organizations are very beneficial for them. It would also bring a positive transformation in the work culture of the organization and its corporate objectives can be achieved very easily.
Question No. 17: A student is already very tired from existing study/tuition schedule and he/she will have no energy left for PFC as he/she will further get tired after attending PFC. Similarly an adult is also already very tired from existing heavy workload and will have no energy left for PFC as he/she will further get tired after attending PFC.
Answer: It needs to be noted that PFC is not a usual run of the mill course like present tuitions where tutor teaches students some difficult concepts and students run from one class to another and get mental as well as physical fatigue. While participating in PFC a student will not be taught any difficult topic by any teacher which he/she has no knowledge at all and have to struggle mentally to understand it. Rather he/she will be given chance to submit only one page each day on a subject or topic of his/her own interest & choice and then express his/her view freely on topics on general nature which are very relevant for day to day life of self, his/her family and society around him/her about which he/she already have some knowledge and will also get chance to hear views of other participants and react to them, he/she will be refreshed in this process of brainstorming and will be in fact more ready for his/her next class or tuition in a relaxed mood with higher energy level. So question of tiring by attending PFC does not arise. In fact it will relax him/her mentally which is very important for better results. Moreover this course is conducted on line through his/her mobile phone he will participate in it sitting home. Same is true for an adult.
Question No. 18: Parents are already paying very high fees of school/college and tuition and therefore persuading parents to arrange Rs. 750 for personality profiling and counseling or Rs. 5000 (Five Thousands) for PFC further may be difficult .
Answer: The personality profiling and counseling fee of Rs. 750 and PFC fee of Rs. 5000 is for the entire course of 6 months duration Considering the current charges for such services in the market this is not considered high and is very moderate. The expected benefit from PFC are many times more than its fee and as such it may be prudent on the part of parents to arrange Rs. 5000 as PFC will change life of the child forever. He/she will be able to manage his/her studies on his/her own in a much better manner than he/she is doing at present. You can highlight this aspect of PFC while persuading a parent of head of family for registration of his or her child or adult member of the family in PFC.
Question No. 19: Schools/colleges/universities are already developing personality of their students through short-term programs/lectures by eminent persons and as such what is need of this course?
Answer: As already said above, the focus of most of Schools/Colleges/Universities is to complete the syllabus somehow and as such they have no time to develop positive personality traits. Short-term programs or lectures by eminent persons are not able to alter the thinking and behavior of participants as permanent retention of ideas imparted is just not there. PFC facilitates development of internally driven and proactive personality through brainstorming sessions for a period of six month which is difficult for Schools/Colleges to ensure due to pressure of course and several other activities which they have to undertake.
Question No. 20: Why should students join PFC so early? Can they not join it later on after completing their studies?
Answer: It is well known fact that the most important stage in the life of a student is the result of high school examination which forms the basis for selecting a particular line of study and job/occupation/profession after completion of studies. Therefore, for maximum benefits, his/her personality deficiencies, if any, should be properly identified and removed much before this stage. Change in thinking and behavior of an individual does not happens all of a sudden and it takes some time for new ideas or thoughts to take firm roots in his/her mind. Therefore PFC is run for students of 6th standards and above for a duration of six months. Therefore one should join it at the earliest rather than waiting further. Why should one wait for something which is so important for studies and career thereafter?
Question No. 21: What is importance of Emotional, Social and Ethical/Spiritual Intelligence over the IQ (Mental Intelligence) of an individual in getting jobs or pursuing any occupation or profession? If one has high IQ then he/she can easily get a good job and earn good money. Why one should join PFC which claims to develop emotional, social and ethical/spiritual intelligence? Would commercial or non-commercial organizations that can pay much higher fee, be interested in nominating their employees and executives for PFC?
Answer: Any employer will not like to give job to an applicant who may have very high IQ but low EQ and SQ. Any job or profession including self-employment requires working with people in teams and an individual with low EQ and SQ is bound to fail due to his/her inability to seek full cooperation of other members of team, juniors and seniors and as a result he/she may lose his/her job in the long run or his career may stagnate. Therefore an individual may not get good jobs if his/her emotional, social and ethical/spiritual intelligence is underdeveloped irrespective of his/her good academic performance. Since PFC ensures development of emotional, social and ethical/spiritual intelligence through the process of brain storming, one should join it if one wishes to have a successful, peaceful and happy life not only as a student but also as an adult thereafter. Commercial and non-commercial organizations would also like to develop emotional, social and spiritual or ethical intelligence of their executives and employees for positive change in work ethics and higher productivity. This will facilitate faster achievement of organizational objectives through predetermined targets.
Question No. 22: What preparation is required before going for PFC class? Where do participants get time for such a preparation?
Answer: One need not do any preparation for PFC class. One is required to just submit one page on any topic of his/her choice and submit it to VVM who conducts this course and just express his/her views on the topic of the day and reacts to the views of others according to existing knowledge. His/her knowledge about an issue under discussion will get enriched during the course of brainstorming. Gaps if any about a topic will get filled through VVM by instigating/encouraging participants to deliberate on untouched aspects of topic being brainstormed.
Question No. 23: What are benefits of attending this course?
Answer: Benefits of this course include better understanding of oneself, improved self-discipline, better time management, better relations with members of your family, relatives, friends and others, better academic performance, better management of future life, success in jobs/occupations, increased happiness, and improved social prestige. This program will bring positive changes in the life of participants. The most important aspect of this course includes assurance to reply to all queries of participants about the topic being brainstormed and availability of long-term mentorship on payment of annual charges of Rs. 1000 (one Thousand) in normal case and only Rs. 500 (Five Hundreds) in case of candidates belonging to weaker sections of society. .
