Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) of Individuals who wish to work as our Activity Partners on part-time basis by donating spare time available with them.
Question No. 1: What is the concept of time donation and how it works?
Answer: There are individuals who are engaged in some work either as an employee or self employed or just looking after their family and have some stable source of income but they may also have some spare time with them after meeting their day to day requirement of self, family and the job or occupation or profession. Similarly there are individuals who have now retired from their job or have stopped working full time and have stable source of regular income from pension or interest or dividend from investment made from past income and have spare time. At present, such individuals may be just passing this spare time somehow. Some of such individuals, having spare time, are kind hearted and are interested in social welfare activities. ‘Prayas’ invites all such kind hearted individuals having spare time to donate this spare time for managing various activities related to personality profiling and development being conducted by ‘Prayas’ and obtain moderate income through the mechanism of income sharing. Thus they would be able to utilize their spare time fruitfully for this socially very useful activity and earn social prestige along with earning some additional income for this. Thus it may be seen that donation of spare time is not totally free but in exchange for a moderate income. This concept of time donation enables ‘Prayas’ in minimizing the cost of its services to various groups of customers and charge them according to their capacity to pay. Thus ‘Prayas’ provide such kind hearted individuals interested in social work a platform to use their spare time fruitfully and also earn moderate income and social respect in this process. This (spare time with individuals and institutions) is a unique resource which, if used properly, can make a lot of difference to life of people and this world.

Question No. 10: What is the age profile of participants of PFC?
Answer: Following categories of persons can participate in PFC.
- Students of 8th class and above.
- Adults-working and not working (both male and female in separate groups) of any age.
The contents of the PFC for a batch are customized as per the age profile of the participants in that batch. The age differential in a group/batch of students does not exceed 1 years. However adult participants are grouped in age brackets of 26-60, above 60 years but below 75 years and above 75 years.
Question No. 11: Which program of ‘Prayas is most important?
Answer: ‘Prayas Foundation Course’ is most important program which includes personality profiling and planned development initiative and is therefore is an integrated personality identification and development program which brings paradigm shift in the thinking and behavior of participants.
Question No. 12: What is purpose of Prayas Foundation Course?
Answer: This program aims at developing an internally driven, proactive and self-motivating personality in participants to enable them to face all challenges of their life successfully with happiness and peace. This program does not restrict entry of applicants on the basis of their economic condition as its charges are fixed on twin principles of ‘No Profit No Loss’ and ‘cross-subsidization’. Out of total 15 (fifteen) participants allowed in one batch of PFC, 05 (Five) are from economically weaker sections of society and are given suitable discount the course fee depending upon their ability to pay.
Question No. 13: Why PFC is not conducted for students who are studying in classes below 6th standard or children whose age is less than 13 years?
Answer: We must understand and note that the personality of an individual starts emerging quite early in his/her life and continues to change or develop in meaningful ways throughout his/her lifespan. According to Paget’s’ theory of cognitive development, there are four stages of personality development which correspond with the age of child. They are sensorimoter (up to 2 years), pre-operational (2-7 years), concrete operational (7-11 Years) and formal operational (11 years to 15 years). Therefore up to 11 years of age the personality of an individual is in fluid stage and takes definite shape only after 11 years and this process goes up to 15 years. However as the result of high school (10th Standard) is very important for motivation for further studies and a child of 15 years is likely to pass 10th standards, it has been decided to permit admission of a student of 13 years to the Prayas Foundation Course so that he or she get about two years time after completion of the course to prepare well for the examination of 10th class with a proactive personality. A child of 13 years age may be studying in 8thth or has passed 8thth standard as admission for formal education of 1st standard for a child is recommended only at the age of 5 years. Therefore neither the personality profiling is done nor is ‘Prayas Foundation Course’ conducted for students or children who are studying in classes below 8th standard.
Question No. 14: As I am entitled to get a share of income received from fee etc and the fee being charged by ‘Prayas’ for various services is very low, my share of income may not be much. Can I increase my income by increasing the monthly mentoring fee of PFC if parents of children or adult participants are ready to pay the increased fee? Is there any upper limit of monthly mentoring fee, which I can decide?
Answer: At the present level of fee being charged by us, the monthly income to you from sharing of the income, as VVM would increase fast if the network of VVMs under you expands fast. You can also increase your monthly income by earning network incentives and leadership bonus prescribed for promoting network expansion and other activities of ‘Prayas’.
Question No. 15: How it is proved that the personality of a participant of PFC has actually developed in right direction because of PFC? Does a participant get any certificate or report at the end of this course indicating such change?
Answer: Just after joining this course (during first month of PFC) a personality test of each participant is held digitally and based on results of this test, the profile of his/her current personality (called entry profile) is generated. Again at the end of PFC (during the last month) a repeat personality profile test is held digitally and a revised profile (called exit profile) of each participant is generated. A Personality Development Report (PDR) is generated for each participant by comparing these two profiles, clearly highlighting the special features of his/her personality and the changes which occurred in his/her personality due to participation in PFC. PDR also contains recommendations for future to be implemented by the participant himself/herself, his/her school and family. It is given to each participant on conclusion of this course. He/she, his/her parents or other family members or his/her employer can easily find out the positive changes which have taken place in his/her personality as a result of participation in PFC. Moreover changes will also be visible in his/her day to day behavior.
Question No. 16: Why should a student or an adult join Prayas Foundation Course, when he/she attending his/her school/college regularly or is already doing some job after completing education and training? What is so special about PFC?
Answer: Student’s School/College has time to give him/her only subject knowledge and is under tremendous pressure to somehow complete the prescribed course and therefore has no time to profile his/her current personality, identify the strengths & weaknesses and remove them in a systematic manner as being done by ‘Prayas’. Prayas Foundation Course precisely does this special task and helps in developing emotional, social and ethical/spiritual intelligence in the participants. Students having very high IQ (Mental Ability) may not be able to score high marks in examinations due to negative personality traits like unwillingness to do hard labor and do planned and focused studies. PFC identifies and removes imbalances in personality traits and thereby facilitates much better academic performance besides bringing positive changes in behavior of participants thereby facilitating development of enabling conduct for achieving success with peace and happiness. This is difficult for the school/college to do under the current framework of education.
So far adults are concerned, it is to be noted that personality of each individual irrespective of his/her age is unique in reference to the configuration of his/her intelligence (IQ, EQ & SQ) profile as well as other personality traits at any given point of time. This affects his performance in his/her current job or occupation (including self employment) in a significant manner. Therefore it is essential to profile his/her current personality, identify the strengths & weaknesses and remove them in a systematic manner for better results in area of his/her work. This would also facilitate faster career progression.
Question No. 17. A student is busy from early morning to evening in school/college and tuition/coaching related to subjects being taught in the school/college. As such where is time of 90 minutes daily for PFC? Similarly an adult is also already very busy from early morning to evening in his/her job/self-occupation and family responsibilities. As such how he/she can find 90 minutes daily for this course?
Answer : In case of a students, all time spent in school/college and tuition/coaching at present will be finally of no practical use for the student without positive thinking, habits and self driven behavior which is developed by PFC and as such taking out 90 minutes by rearranging present day schedule is not only desirable but very necessary. Moreover once he/she completes PFC successfully, need for taking tuition or coaching will reduce drastically as a result of development of the habit of self-struggle to study and understand a subject on one’s own in place of dependence on tutor/coach in the participants. This will not only save money but also time which is currently being spent on tuition or coaching. In fact dependence on spoon feeding, in place of self drive, proves to be very dangerous in the long-run.
In case of an adult, as the present performance of an adult may not be at the desired level due to his/her current personality related constraints and it cannot be improved without developing positive thinking, habits and self driven behavior which is developed by PFC, taking out 90 minutes by rearranging his/her current time schedule is also not only desirable but necessary. Moreover once he/she completes PFC successfully, his/her time management and behavioral effectiveness will improve tremendously and he/she will be successful in whatever he/she decides to do considering his/her personality features and interests. Therefore considering the likely benefits from PFC, finding 90 minutes daily, for this course six days a week is worth it
Question No. 18: A student is already very tired from existing study/tuition schedule and he/she will have no energy left for attending PFC as he/she will further get tired. Similarly an adult is also already very tired from existing heavy workload and will have no energy left for attending PFC as he/she will further get tired.
Answer: It is to be noted that PFC is not a usual run of the mill course like present tuitions where tutor teaches students some difficult concepts and students run from one class to another and get mental as well as physical fatigue. While participating in PFC a student will not be taught any difficult topic by any teacher which he/she has no knowledge at all and have to struggle mentally to understand it. Rather he/she will be given chance to type and submit one page each day through a mobile App on a subject or topic of his/her own interest & choice and then in the brainstorming session of PFC he/she would express his/her view freely on topics on general nature which are very relevant for day to day life of self, his/her family and society around him/her about which he/she already have some knowledge and will also get chance to hear views of other participants and react to them as deemed fit by him/her. Therefore he/she will be refreshed in this process of brainstorming and will be in fact more ready for his/her next class, tuition or coaching in a relaxed mood with higher energy level. So question of tiring by attending PFC does not arise. In fact it will relax him/her mentally which is very important for better results. Same is true also for a working adult. PFC freshen participants in place of causing mental and physical fatigue. It is to be noted that the entire course is conducted digitally and nobody is required to move from his residence and attend in the brainstorming session through his or her mobile phone having internet facility.
Question No. 19: Parents are already paying very high fees of school/college, tuition and coaching and therefore asking parents to arrange Rs. 750 (Seven Hundred Fifty) for personality profiling and counseling or Rs. 5000 (Five Thousands) for attending PFC may be difficult. Adult are also look after their family and other social responsibilities and as such they also may not be able to pay the fee of this course.
Answer: Considering the current commercial rates for such services, Rs 750 (Seven Hundred Fifty) for Personality Profiling and Counseling Service and total fee of Rs. 5000 (Five thousands only) for the entire Prayas Foundation Course (PFC) of 6 months duration is not high. The expected benefits from PFC are many times more than its cost and as such it may be prudent on the part of parents to arrange Rs. 5000 in two installments as PFC will bring positive change in the life of the child forever. He/she will be able to manage his/her studies on his/her own in a much better manner than he/she is doing at present. An adult will be able to manage his family and job related responsibilities in much better fashion. This aspect of PFC can be highlighted while persuading a parent or head of family or an organization for registration a child or adult in PFC.
Question No. 20: Schools/colleges/universities are already developing personality of their students through short-term programs/lectures by eminent persons and as such what is need of this course?
Answer: As already said above, the focus of most of Schools/Colleges/Universities is to complete the syllabus somehow and as such they have no time to develop positive personality traits. It is a bitter truth that short-term programs or lectures from eminent persons are not able to alter the thinking and behavior of participants as retention of ideas being imparted required for change in behavior just does not happen. PFC facilitates development of internally driven and proactive personality through brainstorming sessions for a period of six months which is difficult for Schools/Colleges to ensure due to pressure of course and several other activities which they have to undertake.
Question No. 21: Why an adult (working or non-working) should join this course?
Answer: The success in managing one’s family or one’s job or profession and maintaining peace, happiness and healthy interpersonal relationships requires proper development of emotional, social and ethical/spiritual intelligence. PFC ensures the same irrespective of the age of participants and as such it is equally beneficial for adults whether working or non-working.
Question No. 22: Why should students join PFC so early? Can they not join it later on after completing their studies? Similarly why an adult who already has a job on hand or has no problem should join PFC?
Answer: The most important stage in the life of a student is the result of high school examination which forms the basis for selecting a particular line of study and particular job/occupation/profession after completion of the studies. Therefore, for deriving maximum benefits, the deficiencies of his/her personality, if any, should be properly identified and removed much before this stage. Change in thinking and behavior of an individual does not happen in short duration and it takes long time for new ideas or thoughts to take firm roots in his/her mind. Therefore PFC is run for students of 6th standards and above for a duration of six months. Therefore one should join it at the earliest rather than waiting further. Why should one wait for something which is so important for studies and career thereafter? Similarly a working adult wants job satisfaction and faster career progression and appreciation from others. PFC would facilitate both.
Question No. 23: What is importance of Emotional, social and Ethical/Spiritual Intelligence over the IQ (Mental Intelligence) of an individual in excelling in studies and getting jobs or pursuing any occupation or profession thereafter? If one has high IQ then he/she can easily get a good job and earn good money. Why one should join PFC which claims to develop emotional, social and ethical/spiritual intelligence?
Answer: Any employer will not like to give job to an applicant who may have very high IQ but low EQ and SQ. Any job or profession including self-employment requires working with people in teams and an individual with low EQ and SQ is bound to fail due to his/her inability to seek full cooperation of other members of team, juniors and seniors and as a result he/she may lose his/her job in the long run. Therefore an individual may not get good jobs if his/her emotional, social and ethical/spiritual intelligence is underdeveloped irrespective of his/her good academic performance. Since PFC ensures development of emotional, social and spiritual intelligence through the process of brain storming, one should join it if one wishes to have a successful, peaceful and happy life not only as a student but also as an adult thereafter.
Question No. 24: What preparation is required before going for PFC class? Where do participants get time for such a preparation?
Answer: One need not do any preparation for PFC class. One is required to just write one page on any topic of his/her choice and submit it to Vyaktitatva Vikas Margdarshak (VVM) who conducts this course and in the class just express his/her views on the topic of the day being brainstormed and react to the views of others according his/her existing knowledge. His/her knowledge about an issue under discussion will get enriched during the course of brainstorming. The deficit, if any, remaining at the end of the session will be bridged by VVM through instigations/interventions by encouraging the participants to discuss left over dimensions of the topic. Therefore no prior preparation is required for PFC.
Question No. 25: What are benefits of attending this course?
Answer: Benefits of this course to a participant include better understanding of oneself, improved self-discipline, better time management, better relations with members of your family, relatives, friends and others, better academic performance, better management of future life, success in jobs/occupations, increased happiness, and improved social prestige. This program will bring positive changes in his/her life and he/she will be able to face all challenges of life successfully but peacefully and happily. It also gives opportunity of clearing ones doubts and availing long-term mentoring after conclusion of the course on payment of annual mentoring fee of Rs. 1000 (One Thousands) in normal case and only Rs. 500(Five Hundreds) in case of candidates belonging to economically weaker sections of society. .
Question No. 26: Why would commercial /non-commercial (Profit/not for profit) organizations be interested in organizing Prayas Foundation Course for their executives and employees?
Answer: Performance of any organization, irrespective of its nature, depends upon the thinking, level of dedication and inter-personal behavior of its executives and employees. General culture of the organization including the work culture is outcome of such behavior. PFC would bring positive change in the behavior of executives and employees and would raise their level of dedication significantly. This would bring positive change in the overall culture of the organization including work culture and improve overall productivity. Therefore the commercial as well as non-commercial organizations would be interested in nominating their executives and employees for PFC.

The decision of ‘Prayas’ will be final in this regard.
